TANDEM COMMUNICATIONS is located in Munich, Germany and was started in 1999 by Rola Bauer and Tim Halkin. In 2007 Jonas Bauer became a partner in the company and in 2009 Malisa Scott joined as partner and Chief Operating Officer. From the beginning, their strategy was to build a vertically integrated media company whose core business is international production and worldwide distribution. From the ground-breaking Emmy® and Golden Globe® nominated series, Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth, to the Emmy® Award winner Frank Herbert's Dune to the Golden Globe® nominated The Company, to the Emmy® nominated Dragons' World, TANDEM continues to develop, produce, market and distribute high-quality projects.
TANDEM produced the DIVA Award-winning Ring of the Nibelungs that garnered excellent ratings on the SyFy Channel in the U.S., as well as internationally. Lost City Raiders, a TANDEM event movie, also aired in the U.S. on the SyFy Channel and internationally to superb ratings. Impact premiered successfully in the U.S. on ABC Network. In 2008, TANDEM launched the Nora Roberts Franchise and in 2009, TANDEM launched the new Patricia Cornwell movie franchise with At Risk and The Front, based on her worldwide bestselling crime novels.
In 2010, TANDEM produced The Lost Future starring Sean Bean, shot on location in South Africa. The movie aired in the U.S. on the SyFy Channel. Also in 2010, TANDEM produced Treasure Guards, starring Anna Friel and Raoul Bova. The movie was shot on location in South Africa.
Currently in production is Ken Follett's eight-hour Event series World Without End. Shot on location in Hungary, Austria and Slovakia, the series stars Cynthia Nixon, Ben Chaplin, Peter Firth, Charlotte Riley, Miranda Richardson and many others of the world's top actors and is directed by Michael Caton-Jones (Rob Roy, This Boy's Life, Beyond the Gates).
TANDEM goes into production in mid October on Labyrinth, a new four-hour miniseries based on the worldwide bestselling novel by Kate Mosse. The event miniseries is directed by Christopher Smith (Black Death, Triangle) and will be shot on location in France and in South Africa.
