Typically I don't talk much about myself. I don't talk to the press or do interviews. That said the interest in my project has given me a platform to bring awareness to a few issues I feel strongly about.
For almost three years now I have been diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. This is a rare and usually quite aggressive form of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I had never heard of it and I found even getting a diagnosis was difficult. I eventually landed at Dana Farber in Boston, where they were able to diagnose me and continue to follow me. The cancer is generally chemo-resistant and often strikes older individuals who cannot tolerate the heaviest of chemo treatments often required. Due to this, there is much research being done and much success finding other therapies. For more information please visit: The Lymphoma Foundation
I have also been involved in animal rescue for many years, especially horses. Horse rescue is an extremely expensive project requiring hundreds of dollars each month per horse. You can find a local rescue here: Horse Rescues
I am also an avid fighter for better school services for kids with autism, dyslexia and other learning and social disabilities. Find more information here: The Dyslexia Foundation & Autism Speaks
A portion of the proceeds from my project will go to each of these causes.
