 | In the small town of Shelbyville, Tennessee in 1978, five local teenagers are suddenly sent into a frenzy as they learn of the return of homegrown movie star, Sondra Locke. Clancy (Jason Ritter from The Class) and Melora (Autumn Reeser of The OC), best friends on the verge of falling in love, set out with their best pals Bobbie (One Tree Hills Hilarie Burton), Glenn and Ray ( TVs Campus Ladies) to track down the star in hopes of getting a ticket out of their hauntingly sleepy town and a shot at fame.
Interwoven with the teens hilarious antics is the wrenching story of Clancys parents lives unfolding behind closed doors. Clancys father (Oscar-winner Keith Carradine) and mother (four time Emmy-winning star of The West Wing Allison Janney) secretly struggle to keep the family together and retain dignity within the small town after suffering personal misfortune and heartbreak.
It is a uniquely funny and profoundly moving valentine to small-town life and the age of innocence. Filmed entirely on location in the real town of Shelbyville, this award winning cast of Hollywoods finest includes Cheryl Hines (Curb Your Enthusiasm and RV), Beth Grant (Little Miss Sunshine and Donnie Darko), Dale Dickey (My Name is Earl) and a rare and riveting cameo appearance by Oscar-nominee Mary Badham (Scout from To Kill a Mockingbird.) | |
