| He feels nostalgia for his lost Jewish roots, bitter resentment over
his mothers infidelity, and anxiety over his impending marriage.
Visiting his fathers tailor shop, he finds himself attracted to a
waitress at a local caf. They share a cultural background, and she
too has a troubled private life.
The two become lovers, knowing they will both cause pain in their
