law enforcement agent becomes obsessed with a beautiful married woman he meets during a routine investigation. Believing her husband is controlling and unworthy of her, he quietly inserts himself into her life, becoming her trusted friend and confidant.
As his feelings deepen, the agent begins to see the husband as an obstacle. Using his investigative skills, he carefully studies the couple's relationship and discovers tensions that could be exploited. Without the woman's knowledge, he subtly manipulates events, planting suspicions and encouraging conflicts between husband and wife.
