Shi Junxia, an intelligent nanny, holds a grudge against her harsh employer Sun Xinru. She conspires with her ex-lover Ren Shengli, who has just been released from prison after 20 years (falsely accused by Shi's mother back then), to kidnap Sun's son "Maohuhu" and demand a million-yuan ransom. Though the plan seems well-designed, it gradually spirals out of control due to the kidnappers' unprofessional actions and frequent accidents. A absurd reversal of human nature occurs: Shi, who initially refused to harm the child, eventually tries to kill him, while the bitter Ren reconciles with the "simple-minded" Maohuhu, leading to a tragic mess where everyone loses control.
