Überblick

When twelve-year-old Ryan Sullivan learns that his two lifelong best friends, Luke and Cody, are moving away before summer's end, his world begins to unravel. Unable to face the heartbreak of losing them, Ryan pushes them away, choosing anger over the precious time they have left together. With only Moose (his loyal, lovable dog and constant companion) by his side, Ryan retreats into the familiar woods, hidden fishing holes, and quiet corners of his small New England hometown.

Everything changes when Ryan meets Avery, a confident newcomer who embraces change instead of fearing it. As their friendship grows into an innocent first love, Moose's playful antics and unwavering loyalty repeatedly bring the kids back together, turning ordinary summer days into unforgettable adventures. Through laughter, mischief, and one last season of exploring the places that shaped their childhood, Ryan slowly realizes that his friends aren't leaving by choice—they're saying goodbye to the lives they love, too.

As summer draws to a close, Ryan must decide whether to spend his final days mourning what's ending or celebrating the friendships that made him who he is. Guided by Moose, the dog who never stops living in the moment, Ryan discovers that growing up doesn't mean leaving the people you love behind—it means carrying them with you into whatever comes next.

SUMMER'S END is a heartfelt coming-of-age family adventure about friendship, first love, the unbreakable bond between a boy and his dog, and the bittersweet magic of the last great summer before childhood slips away.
