Casablanca, Morocco. Late 1960s. Pablo is thirteen and has a boundless imagination shaped by the place where he has grown up and spends almost all his time: his uncle
Fredi’s tailor shop, where his parents also work. It is a mythical space, bustling with Arab seamstresses and clients from the European colonies. Pablo’s father, the head tailor, is a timid, fearful man, too devoted to his work to give Pablo either his time or his affection.
Pablo’s closest ally is Nourdine, a young projectionist at a nearby cinema, where Pablo discovers what will become his favorite film, The Man Who Would Be King.
But his fantasy world collides with reality when his father receives a commission to make an extraordinarily expensive suit for King Hassan II. What begins as a dream assignment becomes the catalyst that will change Pablo’s summer, and his life, forever.
