The eight characters of the film survive the downfall of the empire, that is, the collapse of the
Soviet Union which affected their families just like every person in the country. Many a generation will be needed to atone for the disaster and set right the consequences. In their eight monologues the characters are trying to solve the key problems of their lives. What is truth, and what is fiction? Where is the point where a documentary turns into an artistic creation? The answer is for the viewer to provide. None of the figures will leave you indifferent. The quest for happiness is all-prevailing, but how to achieve it?
