Based on the classic myth, this updated tale of Psyche, goddess of the soul, is a magical retelling, somewhere between myth and fairytale. Orphaned and abandoned as a baby, Psyche is found and raised by the family of a nobleman. But as she grows, it becomes evident that she very different from her two stepsisters. Psyche’s beauty and her rare inner light are so radiant, that all in the village are intimidated by her, leaving her isolated. Worried about her future happiness, Psyche’s step-father brags about her in the local tavern, attracting the jealous rage of Aphrodite; vain goddess of love and beauty. Determined to destroy Psyche, Aphrodite sends her son Eros to punish the innocent girl with a fateful arrow, but when Eros arrives to fulfill his task, Psyche is far from what he expected, and things do not go as planned.
