Be Available for God

Synopsis

One of the greatest abilities in the kingdom is availability. God is not always looking for the most talented, the most educated, or the most experienced — He is looking for the one who says, “Here I am, Lord.”

1. God Calls Those Who Are Willing

When God called Isaiah, He didn’t ask for a résumé. He asked for a heart. And Isaiah responded, “Here am I; send me.” (Isaiah 6:8) Availability opens doors that ability alone cannot.

2. Availability Requires Interruptibility

God often moves in moments that interrupt our plans. Moses was tending sheep when God called him. Mary was living quietly when God chose her. If we are too busy to be interrupted, we may be too busy to be used.

3. God Uses What You Surrender

The boy with five loaves and two fish didn’t have much — but he made it available. And God multiplied it. Whatever you place in God’s hands becomes more than enough.

4. Availability Is Proven in Small Things

Before David fought Goliath, he carried lunch to his brothers. Before Elisha called down miracles, he poured water on Elijah’s hands. Faithfulness in small assignments prepares you for greater ones.
