Synopsis

Documentary filmmaker León Siminiani, winner of the 2023 Goya Award for “Emotional Architecture 1959,” has created a harrowing chronicle destined to take its place in future anthologies of horror cinema. With the collaboration of the Spanish Army’s Military Emergency Unit (UME), the director plunges us into the flames of hell, making us feel the fear and anguish of both the inhabitants of the devastated areas and those fighting a battle worthy of the cruelest war. The film is based on an investigation by investigative journalists Nacho Carretero and Arturo Lezcano, who expose the negligence of government agencies and the futile protests of environmentalists, and call for a scientific approach to prevent catastrophes like this one in the future. “Fuego” is a production of the Movistar+ streaming platform, in collaboration with El Gesto Cinematográfico, Ailalelo Producciones, Kormenia Films, and Avalon PC
