Surprised By God

Synopsis

Sometimes we think we know exactly how God should answer our prayers. We have the timing planned, the solution imagined, and the outcome we hope for. Then God surprises us.

Throughout Scripture, God often works in unexpected ways. Moses encountered God in a burning bush. David went from tending sheep to becoming a king. The disciples expected defeat at the cross, but God brought resurrection.

That reminds us of an important truth: God is not limited by what we can see or imagine.

Maybe you have been praying about something for a long time. Maybe you have almost given up. Stay open. God may answer differently than you expected. He may open a door you never considered, send encouragement from an unexpected person, or use a difficult season to grow something new within you.

The greatest surprises of faith often come when we surrender our expectations and simply trust God.

So today, pray with an open heart:

“Lord, I trust You even when I cannot see what You are doing. Give me eyes to recognize Your presence and faith to receive whatever You have for me. Surprise me with Your grace. Amen.”

Main thought: Never let your expectations become a limit on what you believe God can do.
