Set in 1996, Fortune Cookies tells the story of the Lees – a Chinese family who run a takeaway in England. Cyril and Joan came to the UK in search of a better life. Here they had two daughters Susan and Jenny. The daughters couldn’t be more different. Susan has aspirations of being an actress whilst Jenny has an obsession of a different kind - Frank Fox, the host of her favourite TV gameshow “Fame to Fortune”. When the family hit financial troubles, the Lees hope to win the gameshow and the big cash prize. Can the Lees make their dreams come true?
