This is a truly single location psychological thriller/horror that takes place entirely within the garage of a family of cannibals, featuring four characters.
The script has received good coverage, including a "double recommend" from a Stage 32 Executive reader. I am a produced writer/director of the recent VOD/DVD release 'Boardwalk Winter' through Twin Engines Global distribution. I have two other features in post-production.
Synopsis:
Will, a shallow college athlete is trapped in a cage in the garage of a family of cannibals, and is hosted by Mia, the girl he was heavily flirting with at a frat party the night before. Mia presents a challenge: He can choose the part he loses first, and if he chooses a part that no other captive has chosen, she will set him free...without the chosen part. Will is steeped in denial and refuses to play the game, to which Mia replies that denial is her favorite part of the process, as it's "just a hop, skip and a jump away from hope."
Will attempts to reason his way out of the situation with Mia, but eventually falls out of favor with her...and her much more evil brother, Caleb. Will is forced to choose the part he will lose under pressure and reflexively chooses his left leg, which is the most commonly chosen part. Having failed his challenge, he changes his strategy to attempt to charm Mia into sympathizing with him so she will let him go. He learns that he was chosen because of his apparent shallowness and realizes he needs to prove to Mia that he is a person worth saving, who is valuable to society.
Will wins Mia over and convinces her to call the police and turn her family in, so he can go free and she can stop the cannibalism scheme that she has been unwillingly participating in all of her life. The cops arrive and Caleb attacks Mia, then is taken down by the police, who then free Will, who hops out of the garage alive.
