After a fatal hit and run, up and coming assistant DA Mitch Brody (Cooper) must prosecute a suspect (Jackson) for the crime he committed. Mitch does his best to throw the case, and is successful due to inconclusive evidence. However, following the trial, Mitch quickly realizes that he may have been wrong and finds himself struggling to hunt down the man he helped acquit.
