Volker Eckert was a German serial killer who turned Europe’s highways into his hunting ground. Working as a long-haul truck driver, he moved freely across borders, blending in. His obsession was disturbingly specific: women’s hair, which he kept as trophies—and he used rubber dolls to rehearse his methods, even attaching his victims’ hair to them, turning them into grotesque stand-ins that blurred the line between control, fantasy, and violence.
