Set in Austin, Texas, the film follows Ray Mueller, a lovable slacker and lifelong employee of the city’s historic municipal golf course—affectionately known as “Muny.” When a hard-charging consultant is hired to determine whether the course should be shut down for redevelopment, Ray and his band of quirky coworkers must rise to the occasion. What begins as a desperate attempt to save their beloved course becomes a heartfelt fight for community, history, and identity in a city rapidly losing its soul to tech money and urban sprawl. Amid bureaucratic chaos, eccentric locals, and unexpected alliances, Ray discovers that even a slacker can become a hero when home is on the line.
