Set in 1996 Venezuela, Ricardo, in his early twenties and totally carefree, returns to Caracas after a year abroad in America. After reuniting with his close-knit family and friends he is eager to revel in the freedom of youth. To celebrate his homecoming he embarks on a spontaneous road trip along Venezuela’s stunning Caribbean coast, including the dazzling Los Roques archipelago, with his best friends—a group of lively characters. The sun- soaked beaches, vibrant music, and happy-go-lucky banter comes to a screeching halt when an unexpected twist shatters the joy. Ricardo experiences a sharp, inexplicable pain that soon leads to a devastating diagnosis of cancer dramatically altering his life and his family’s.
