CODE DEATH is a darkwave industrial thriller set in modern-day San Francisco. There’s coding, hacking, police investigation, biotech battle, industrial metal music, some mafia, a love story, and themes of assisted suicide and its morality.

The film explores the struggles of IRIS, a German-born engineering manager who works non-stop to compensate for the lack of fulfillment in life.

Having lost her father to suicide when she was a teenager, Iris found a father figure in her work mentor, PATRICK. When Patrick drops dead due to a presumed heart attack, Iris doesn’t believe the narrative and begins her rogue investigation. With the help of her police officer friend, RACHEL, a brilliant engineer, SAVIT, and a social butterfly ANNA, Iris locates the man behind Patrick’s death.

Enter VIC—a brilliant biochemist from Iceland, who performs assisted suicide under the table. He calls it ‘SaaS’—Suicide as a Service, where he only works with terminally-ill. Initially, all Iris wants is to expose Vic and bring him to justice. But after learning about his Why, she changes her opinion, falls in love with him, and it’s mutual.

Together, they are met with forces beyond their control: a corrupt bioscientist, drug lord, and Vic’s boss, OLAFSSON, who blackmails Vic; an ongoing police investigation, and of course peer pressure spiked with tough moral choices... With Iris’ help, the police track down the drug ring in the city and arrest its members. Iris and Vic decide to stay together and help each other heal, as well as start a company to help people on the edge of taking their own life.
