筋書き

As the documentary unfolds we are ushered onto the backstage of the Jordanian scene by four of its prominent
figures - Mahmoud Radaidah from JadaL, Muhammad Abdullah from El Morabba3, Tareq Abu Kwaik as El Far3i, and Aziz
Maraka - as they fend against their own load of uncertainty as well as individual reform.
These voices that sprung out of silence do not merely speak for themselves, but rather, for a crowd of their generation
everywhere Arabic is spoken. This came about by adhering to a vision, a compelling sense of identity and experience to
the land, and its people.

We look at shades of reform, as these artists smash against the grim wall of the region’s economy, state, borders, pass-
ports and other external forces. But, yet again, stripped off and we are left with the naked fabric that weaves together the

scattered pieces into a wholesome product of Art. This is finally underscored not merely as contemporary nor alternative,
underground or plain commercial but more importantly as a solid stance of an independent scene.
