Ngozi is a simple, warm‑hearted village girl with little formal education. What she lacks in schooling, she makes up for in kindness, loyalty, and a pure heart. Her fiancé, Somto, once loved these qualities — until he began climbing socially and professionally.

As Somto’s status rises, so does his pride.

He becomes increasingly embarrassed by Ngozi’s grammar, her mannerisms, and her lack of sophistication. Instead of helping her grow, he begins to distance himself, correcting her harshly in public and treating her as though she is beneath him.

Then he meets Amara — educated, polished, and socially aligned with the image he wants to project. Slowly, he starts spending more time with Amara, convincing himself that she is the “right” woman for a man of his level. Ngozi notices the change, but her love blinds her to the truth… until the betrayal becomes undeniable.
