UFOs: THE CIVILIZATION
Amid rising tensions in the South China Sea, the USS INOUYE, commanded by Captain Caitlin Scott, encounters a mysterious UFO. While taking no hostile action, the object closely surveils the destroyer. Unexpectedly, the object seizes - then releases — control of the vessel along with the entire military communications networks of Russia, China, and the U.S. Scott deploys the cutting-edge Falcon jet, which collides with the object and crashes into the ocean. The Pentagon summons Scott to Washington.
While the Pentagon officially denies a cover-up, the U.S. PRESIDENT orders Scott to investigate. A frightened whistleblower contacts her and reveals an off-the-book top-secret “Unacknowledged Special “Program”. Scott forces her way in to the top-secret facility, and confirms what skeptics have long argued: an organized conspiracy to convince the news media, Congress and the public, that UFOs have not visited earth.
Scott is stunned that the Government is hiding the strange craft of unknown origin. All efforts to penetrate it fail. When Scott lays hands on it for close examination, she discovers that it is sentient.
Across the world, the head of China’s space efforts, DR. LIAN TSU, realizes that similar craft are monitoring her movements. She senses an effort to signal.
The three nations respond to the unexplained phenomenon. The U.S. Pentagon intrigue deepens. China President WU watches as UFOs harass Chinese fighter jets. Russia President LEONID VOLKOV - trigger-happy and impatient - insists that Russia launch its own expedition. Relations with Russia deteriorate and distrust and suspicion intensifies. A Russian aircraft carrier opens fire on a UFO, which retaliates by conjuring a mighty tsunami that sinks the Russian ship.
Anxious to avoid a third world war, China and US leaders recognize that whatever their differences on other matters, the crisis mandates their joining forces to uncover the origin and intentions of the UFOs.
Scott receives an unexpected call from an old friend, NASA marine biologist ISABELLA PEDDE. Isabelle shares with Scott that their old colleague - Dr. LIAN TSU - is on her way to NASA’s California facility. Scott agrees to join them.
The three women combine forces. Building on recent success in communicating with whales, Isabella succeeds in opening conversation with THOMAS, the lead DOLPHIN. The trio ask the dolphins to help locate the UFOs. The dolphins condition their help on receiving global protection from being hunted or used to carry warheads. The U.S. accepts their conditions.
Matters unhinge when a paranoid Volkov arms his satellites with nuclear warheads, determined to shoot down the strange craft. The Russians learn to their horror their approach is imprudent.
Guided by UFO’s and accompanied by dolphins, Lian and Scott agree to a fateful meeting — deep under the Western Pacific — that unveils the mystery behind the UFOs and a revelation that will lead to humanity’s salvation. If humanity is able to earn it.
