Ethan Vale, a man with cerebral palsy and Treacher Collins syndrome, has spent his life being mocked, rejected, and treated as though his differences make him less human. Isolated from society and struggling to survive, Ethan holds tightly to a lesson his mother taught him as a child: nature exists in balance, every action has a consequence, and the energy people put into the world eventually returns to them. After losing his home and enduring one act of cruelty after another, Ethan begins to break, turning his pain into anger and his desire for justice into revenge, but nature pushes back in terrible ways.
