Synopsis

SAINT MISTRESS is a prestige drama centered on Colette, a woman whose carefully constructed life begins to collapse after the death of her beloved twin brother, Connor. Their bond has shaped Colette since childhood, and his death leaves an absence she cannot simply grieve away. His presence continues to echo through her life, particularly through the recurring image of the buck, a deeply personal symbol connecting Colette to Connor, memory, intuition, and the possibility that those we lose may never entirely leave us.

At the same time, Colette is fighting to save her son, Grayson, whose heroin and fentanyl addiction, survivor's guilt, overdose and struggle toward recovery push mother and son to the edge. Tubbs and others seize upon the scandal, weaponizing the name “Saint Mistress” and searching for the information they need to destroy her reputation and remove her from Kappa Chi.

The resulting conflict forces Colette's private and public lives into collision. Her son's history and legal circumstances are brought against her, and she ultimately faces the loss of the community and home that had given her a renewed sense of purpose. Even when presented with the possibility of a larger House Mom Director role, Colette refuses to allow other people to define the truth of her life without confronting them.

By the culmination of the story, Colette has endured the death of her twin, her son's addiction, the collapse of her marriage, sexual judgment, betrayal and the loss of Kappa Chi. But the woman emerging from those experiences is no longer simply trying to restore the life she had.
