To fulfill his daughter Li Yan's (played by Tan Songyun) small wish before her final year of high school, father Li Boyu (played by Wu Jing) takes her on a skiing trip to Altay. However, tragedy strikes when Li Boyu suffers an accident, resulting in brain death despite intense efforts to save him. This leaves his wife, Pan Yanqiu (played by Yan Ni), faced with an agonizing decision that no woman should have to make.
As their family begins to feel the chill of loss, a spirited puppy named Kola unexpectedly enters their lives, becoming the focal point of tension between mother and daughter, while also providing companionship through their struggles. As they navigate their grief, they must learn to let go of regret and embrace love and courage.
