Six years after failing to block a Russian mafia nuclear heist at sea, Los Angeles SWAT Captain Luc Remmy (Olivier Gruner) faces intense public scrutiny following a botched counterfeiting sting that leaves his partner dead despite the surgical efforts of Remmy's wife (Rebecca Ferratti). To rehabilitate the department's image, Lieutenant Howard assigns veteran news reporter Dick Danvers (Mel Novak) to shadow Remmy for a 48-hour ride-along. Remmy dives into the criminal underworld to hunt his partner's killer, crossing paths with crime lord Phillip Chang, who uses advanced technology to forge undetectable money to buy back that same stolen nuclear warhead. Complicating Chang's operation, rogue henchman Jacky Yang steals the warhead's detonator, sabotages the forgery network with a computer virus, and triggers a violent spree before landing in critical condition at the county hospital. Under police guard, a hospitalized Yang cuts a deal for immunity, prompting an enraged Chang to seize the building, plant explosives, and hold Remmy's surgeon wife hostage. With Yang having secretly hidden the nuclear warhead inside the hospital and a TV news crew broadcasting live, Remmy faces a high-stakes battle for absolute redemption and the survival of Los Angeles
