Production Profile

Sceneamation Movie Studio is proud to offer to the marketplace our first animated theatrical feature STAR SETTLERS! FANTASTIC JOURNEY TO RYSALASYS SEVEN!

ABOUT OUR MOVIE

GENRE: Sci-fi, fantasy.

THEME: The dangers of Artificial Intelligence.

WHY CHOOSE OUR ANIMATED MOVIE?

From a marketing and distribution standpoint, our animated movie has three main characters whose dialog can be easily replaced (ADR) with A-list Hollywood movie stars such as Scarlette Johansen, Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks--just to name a few.

By doing the above, our computer-generated animated movie is delivered to the marketplace with the EXACT same gravitas as any movie released by Disney, Pixar, Warner Bros. Animation, etc. In other words, we feel that if you do what they do you will reap the same financial rewards--all beginnig with a wide theatrical release of more than 5k theaters in just the opening weekend for the north American film market, thereby rocketing the box office to high nine figures (USD) or more--and that's only the first revenue stream.

Once you factor in global box office. the amounts can be staggering. (Remember, this is not a guarantee but is based on projections of major box office hits.)

Once the worldwide box office is factored in--and this is all well before any streaming deal that will be sure to occur with the likes of NetFlix, Hulu, and others--and by following what the Majors do, our theatrical release can be the penetration point for later streams of revenue be they VOD, SVOD, etc.

Disclaimer; While we make no guarantees on any distribution monies or means of release, we make this disclaimer that with the very high risk associated with ANY Hollywood movie you can lose all of your investment so we strongly adivse you to seek an Entertainment Attorney's advise before moving ahead!

In the meantime, rest assured that we have gone to considerable length's to deliver a movie that has strong marketing benefits, namely;

1. A powerful, relevant to today, storyline with a unique hook for an animated feature film --the dangers of Artificial Intelligence that is a central character--and we're not talking about some special effect of what an AI computer display looks like, but a real and deadly arch enemy that can defeat the hero in a serious and uncartooney way. Of course, there is an AI mentor and ally of the hero as well that will help him in his journey to save humanity.

With visionaries like Elon Musk warning about the dangers of AI, if you wanted to bring a story with this subject matter to fruition today you would need years to do so as most movies today take 5-8 years to bring to fruition.

What this means is, when we first developed the storyline we envisioned that although we understood the dangers, back then the world had yet to catch up to our visionary story. Because of this, we believe we are the first Animation studio to offer this unique look at a powerful subject that we feel would resonate well with the audience worldwide and maybe give the younger generation a first look into the subject in an entertaining and profound way--which meets our studio's goal of creating content that could make the world a better place.

2. Easily replaceable dialogue for inclusion of A-list actors.

As mentioned before, to successfully market a film worldwide, it is necessary to attach the names of A-list actors who do more than a mere cameo if you are to have any chance at box office success.

With that in mind, we made our movie so that it would attract a movie star. Not only is the movie well made and very entertaining, there are three roles central to the main storyline that would be sure to garner the interest of any serious actor, with one of the roles being a narrator/voice-over that is the spine of the story and would give any actor a unique opportunity to expand and perfect their craft.

3. A unique "look."

Finding an animated movie that isn't trying to copy the look of the major studios is a challenge. It seems the emphasis of today is overly large eyes, squishy looking quasi-human bodies and lots of fur and hair. In other words--the PIXAR look.

Well, rest assured, our movie has a very unique look as it's impossible to be a visionary company if your product looks like everyone else's.

Therefore, while we have humans with realistic movements and normal proportions, all of the central characters are unique in form and function--and it all fits within the confines of our visionary story.

4. Music.

If you couple A-list actors with an A-list composer like John Williams and then pair them with a great symphony orchestra you create movie magic!

5. Winning an Academy Award.

Yes, we'd love to win an Academy Award, and fortunately for us that is always a possibility, especially now that AMPAS is receptive to independent animated feature films. While it's VERY expensive to mount an Oscar campaign, with the right marketing campaigners it is possible to get in the running if you have the right film. While a win can't be guaranteed, at least you have a chance. Who knows, we may be the right movie. Of course, we make no guarantees, but as Walt Disney used to say, "It's kind of fun to do the impossible!"

6. Motion Control.

Our entire movie is hand animated. We do not use motion control. As a rersult of this decision our movie can be submitted for an Oscar. (BTW, you no longer have to screen your movie in L.A. to be considered.)

7. Audience.

Our focus is on the family. Full stop. As such, we make a promise to our audience--there will be no swears, nudity, innapropriate "winks" dialogu to smarmy adults, sexual innuendo, hidden sex objects, or anything else that would do harm to young minds while at the same time entertaining Mom and Dad. We want parents to be delighted to have their children watch our movies and would be honored for them to do so.

8. Are you prepared to grab your wallet when you decide you want to enter into the world of animated movies?

It's common knowledge on the internet that making an animated feature is the costliest venture in Hollywood. Make sure you're sittiing down before you read on;

Pixar movies cost in the range of 200 thousand dollars (USD) per finished SECOND. Get out your calculator--200,000 times 60 seconds times a minimum of 41 minutes for any feature and you get the idea. (BTW, The Oscars (AMPAS) define any movie over 41 minutes to be a feature so towards that end, rest assured, our movie definately qualifies.)

Of course, PIXAR pays for hundreds of employees, a massive AI render farm, astronomical salaries for executives, a sprawling campus, union salaries and the list goes on and on.

Of course, we had none of the above, so rest assured that the cost to acquire royalties from us is relatively manageable--but even still, our budget would make some eyes water especially when they find out we consider ourselves to be; mid-range, that the movie was made solely in the USA and that we used no outside studios. By doing so we felt we could keep our cost more manageable than the majors. Go figure--literally.

Think of the cost breakdown this way; When you shoot any live-action movie you place actors in front of a scene and roll film. In an animated movie what you see on the screen is crated from scratch down to the smallest of details. That's what makes animation so labor intensive and why it requires a serious render farm and terabytes of data to pull it off. Even still, it takes most studios years to bring an idea to market which is why PIXAR routinely budgets 120 to 250 million dollars (or more) for every movie they produce and deliver.

There are no indie low-budget animated feature out there. None. Even if you do as most indie animation studios do and hire a studio overseas where labor cost are lower, you're still paying around a million dollars a minute--and that doesn't include voice work, editing, music--the list goes on.

So think of Sceneamation Studios as your more manageable entry into the exciting world of computer generated movie making--but even then you still may want to be sitting down when we tell you how much. Just being candid, folks.

9. We make our movies the same way Hollywood does.

By that we mean, we shoot what's known in the industry as Hollywood coverage so that all of the shots will cut together without being jarring which can take the viewer out of the experience. For example, when we make live action movies(2 features, seven awards including for Directing and Cinematography AND we premiere at A-list festivals) we use the Hollywood system of coverage so that the footage edits well later on without resorting to a lof of reshoots or extra angles that we may have missed.

Having experience pushing a camera around a live-action movie set was central to making a professional looking animated feature. What that means is when you watch our movie you are immersed in the story because what you are seeing on the screen is no different than any other Hollywood movie--PIXAR included. Because of this, you are able to suspend any disbelief and simply sit back, munch your popcorn and enjoy the show. If you want to see our work in action then contact us and we will email you the links and password to our secure movie clips on Vimeo.com. Then, you be the judge.

10. Why would our movie's story work when others don't?

Simple. We used mythology.

By that we mean that we relied on the old guard of animation, Walt himself, who understood the power of fairy tales and mythology to reach an audience at a deeper level similar to what Lucas did in Star War.

Our mantra is "Never underestimate the power of myth," so towards that end we crafted the storyline similar to the old myths. We did so by infusing our story with the same beats of the hero's journey which are at the core of any mythological storyline. Whether it's Star War or Lord of the Rings if you "do the same, you will reap the same rewards."

11. The most important factor of all.

Having fun.

We had fun making it and we know the audience will have fun watching it. Afterall, isn't that what you had when you watched Disney movies of old and those wonderful cartoons when you were a kid?

I know I did.

Life is too short to do otherwise.

So let's have fun together and get this movie in the theatres and onto that stage at the Oscars--it deserves no less.

If we haven't scared you off from contacting us, we'd love for you to see our work so drop us an email or give us a call.
