A terrifying glimpse into the near future as humans merge with technology. What happens when people choose to blur the line between digital and real life? The monsters appear.
BRAIN WIRE, set in a dystopian New York City, follows Maya, a sculptor struggling to make ends meet and also fighting the urge to reach out to her ex, Pandora. She decides that if she can’t have Pandora back in real life, she can have a digital version in her imagination by using “the plug”––a computer chip implanted directly into her brain.
She becomes so obsessed with Pandora, that she tries to hack into Pandora’s plug so that she can read her thoughts. This works, and Maya starts having visions which come from Pandora’s mind. But, Maya cannot control them. Moreover, she starts having “glitches”––hallucinations caused by her plug. Reading Pandora’s mind is not the comfort Maya expected, and as her nightmarish visions worsen and the monsters appear, she must fight desperately with her new reality in order to survive.
