конспект

Set in India, Test Subject V is a fresh and entertaining film that follows the real- life journey of a middle-aged, hedonistic and gluttonous (albeit likeable and well meaning) Kunal Avanti, a man, who, shall we say, isn’t exactly Mr. Health & Fitness. Visually vibrant and scenic, the film invokes old world cultural traditions

A self-proclaimed “Mr. Average”, Kunal was having the time of his life.  drinking,

doing drugs, eating like he was going to the electric chair. One day that all changed. And he owes that change to Paul McCartney—yes, the cute mop top of that band everyone raves about, the Beatles—who inspires him to completely rethink everything he’d ever learned about food.

Through his journey to fix his health ailments, Kunal learns the truth about his most passionate pastime, eating. This flies in the face of what he has been taught by parents, the Indian government, and society at large. Across the globe Indian food is regarded as healthy, and to Indians dairy is seen as vital to grow strong and powerful. Heck cows are even considered holy and sacred.

Using humor, emotion, and a heartwarming human angle, Test Subject V dives deep into universally relatable struggles such as cognitive dissonance, perseverance, and the courage to change yourself for the better.

At the crux of this film is an extreme physical and mental transformation that our human test subject (Kunal) must endure in order to prove a highly debated theory. But can an overweight, out of shape everyman do it? To quote Kunal, “Little did my sweet jiggly ass know that I was in for the challenge of a lifetime.”

Going up against generations of programming, tradition, religion, and cultural beliefs, Kunal endures an endless array of physical trials, lows and highs, while being extremely vulnerable and relatable.

In a world powered by propaganda, this refreshingly crisp and honest film, presented by legendary Bollywood action star John Abraham, is a rousing story of courage and triumph that will not only appeal to the over 35 million members of the Indian diaspora around the world but also anyone looking to take back their health and live a richer, more satisfying life.

Audiences will laugh, learn, and feel inspired.
