For years, Mama Ifeoma’s family has been known for brilliance, especially her niece, Chidimma—a quiet, gifted girl whose academic talents shine brighter with every passing year. Teachers praise her, scholarships chase her, and the entire community sees her as a rising star.
But not everyone celebrates her success.
Her aunt, Aunty Nwakaego, has always struggled with insecurity. Watching her own children fall behind while her niece excels becomes a bitter reminder of everything she wishes her family could be. What begins as silent envy slowly grows into resentment. She mocks Chidimma’s achievements, spreads subtle rumors, and even discourages her own children from associating with their cousin.
Her jealousy becomes a poison that seeps into her home.
