Jesus walked into Nazareth — His hometown — with the same power, the same anointing, and the same authority He carried everywhere else. But Scripture says He could not do mighty works there because of one issue:
Their perception was wrong.
They saw:
A carpenter
Mary’s son
The boy they watched grow up
Someone familiar, ordinary, common
And because their perception was small, their faith was small. Because their faith was small, their expectation was small. And because their expectation was small, their miracle never manifested.
Here’s the truth: Your perception determines your reception. How you see Jesus affects what you receive from Jesus.
If you only see Him as a historical figure, you’ll get information. If you only see Him as a moral teacher, you’ll get inspiration. But if you see Him as Savior, Healer, Deliverer, and Miracle‑Worker — you’ll get transformation.
Nazareth teaches us this: Jesus didn’t lose power — the people lost perception.
Sometimes the miracle isn’t delayed because God is unwilling; it’s delayed because we are unable to perceive Him correctly.
So the question today is simple: How is your perception? Do you see Jesus as limited by your situation, or unlimited in His power? Do you see Him through the lens of your past, or through the truth of His Word? Do you see Him as distant, or as present and able?
Fix your perception, and your faith will rise. Let your faith rise, and your miracle will follow.
