The film follows Laras and her husband, Radit, as they visit his dying father,
Syamsul, after years of estrangement. At Syamsul's decrepit ancestral home,
Laras has chilling encounters with the spirit of a woman named Nyai Randasura. ( The Widow Demon ) It's
revealed that Syamsul and all their ancestor made a pact with her for power and
wealth. Now Nyai Randasura wants Radit to take his father's place. When Laras gets
marked for sacrifice with the symbol of a full moon, she destroys Randasura's
power source - a ruby amulet. But this act unintentionally sets the demon free.
