In 1932, when Shanghai was in turmoil, four righteous patriots formed an "Anti-Traitor Squad" to secretly carry out anti-Japanese activities and punish collaborators. Their heroic deeds attract the attention of Hu Baye, a gang leader who is also a patriot. Though from the underworld, Hu has a strong sense of national responsibility and takes the initiative to invite the squad to jointly execute a secret mission: assassinating Japanese military officer Kurokawa Kazusawa. Putting aside their identity differences, they carefully plan the operation but repeatedly fall into danger due to the Japanese army's tight defense and a mole's betrayal. Finally, they complete the mission at the cost of blood, interpreting the patriotic feeling that "everyone is responsible for the rise and fall of the nation" with their lives.
