Jacques Dauda, a once-respected contractor, is struggling to rebuild his life after a bitter divorce and the collapse of his business. His days are filled with regrets and the weight of missed opportunities—until he crosses paths with Antony Benech, a smooth-talking developer with a tempting real estate project.
Initially skeptical of Benech’s polished charm and vague promises, Dauda is unexpectedly captivated when he sees the architect’s model, a vision that seems to capture the very soul of coastal southern France. For the first time in years, he senses a chance to restore not only his business but his standing with his family, and therefore invests his own time and money in the project.
But as delays mount and Benech’s true intentions remain elusive, Dauda begins to realize he may be trapped in a dangerous game he cannot fully control. Financial pressures and growing distrust push him toward a confrontation that will change everything.
Questioned by a judge, he recounts his story piece by piece to make sense of what happened, forcing justice to navigate the blurred line between legal guilt and moral responsibility, and to answer the only question that matters: what is right?
