The West Kentucky Film Commission was established to strengthen and expand the film and television industry across the western region of Kentucky by connecting production companies with local resources, locations, and talent. The Commission serves as a bridge between filmmakers, local governments, and community partners, ensuring productions of all sizes can access Kentucky’s competitive 30%–35% cash rebate through the Kentucky Entertainment Incentive (KEI) while maximizing regional economic impact.
The Commission promotes Western Kentucky as a premiere destination for film, television, and digital media — offering a rich mix of rural landscapes, small-town charm, modern facilities, and professional crew infrastructure. The commission assists with location scouting, vendor coordination, workforce development, and community engagement, helping streamline every stage of production.
In partnership with Goldenrod Film & Television, Kentucky Sound Stage, and local educational institutions, the Commission is committed to building a sustainable creative economy — one that generates jobs, tourism, and long-term investment in the arts. Through its initiatives, Western Kentucky is fast emerging as a dynamic hub for storytelling and studio-quality production, from independent features to national network series.
