Synopsis

Artists in NYC is a documentary film about visual artists who live and work in New York City.

After playing nationally on PBS and various streaming platforms, WE ARE NOW LOOKING FOR DISTRIBUTION FOR 2025 and beyond, domestic and international.

The Artists: The artists have exhibited in at least 30 countries around the world. Some are in museum collections. Others have been in prestigious art fairs and biennials including the Whitney Biennial 2019. They are the next generation of blue-chip artists.

Music: Bob Dylan, John Coltrane, Joseph Arthur, Sun Ra, Jackie McLean, and newer and younger blues, hip-hop, and rap artists.

Audience: New York City is, and has been, the center of the art world for more than 65 years. This is just one reasons our museums are flooded with visitors. Almost all of the major cities around the globe are also filled with an eager and art-loving public. The desire to see art has never been greater by every age and category.

Demographics: A large segment of the art-going public desires to learn more about living artists. Unfortunately, most media on artists, including most galleries/gallerists, can be pretentious and disdainful for those not directly involved in the art world.

Our approach is very different. We want to appeal to a general audience by broadening their knowledge, but not with art world jargon or talk designed to impress art critics or academics.

Countries Exhibited: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Dominican Republic, England, France, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Italy, Georgia (Tbilisi), Germany, Greece, Japan, Monaco, The Netherlands, Norway, Philippines, Sweden, Switzerland, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, United Arab Republic (Dubai), United States, Venezuela
