Synopsis

Keke McQueen, a bright and ambitious recent Harvard graduate, is ready to launch her dream career in Atlanta. But when she stops home in Grand Rapids, Michigan, for a quick goodbye, she’s pulled into a whirlwind of family and community chaos. Her beloved Grandma Janice, the heart of the neighborhood, is beginning to show signs of early dementia—right as she’s set to host the annual Juneteenth block party. With the event on the brink of collapse, Keke puts her big-city dreams on hold to save the celebration. What begins as an obligation quickly turns into a heartfelt journey as Keke reconnects with her roots, rekindles relationships, and reclaims the joy of her hometown. Block Party is a vibrant, music-filled, multigenerational comedy about legacy, love, and what it truly means to come home.
