Dime Detective

Synopsis

Based upon the classic 1930s pulp magazine series, DIME DETECTIVE  is a modern, gritty Caribbean "Noir" set in Puerto Rico, where hard-boiled detective Javier “Tank” Tanquiero (Terrence Howard) and the San Juan Police hunt a serial killer targeting women. When a well-known activist is murdered during the city's annual San Sebastian parade, tensions surrounding the case further escalate, and FBI agent Bob Iger (Armando Riesco), a by-the-book "mainland" star, is brought in. Tank embarks on a gripping chase through the city’s historic streets, pushing a lot of limits.  As Tank dives deeper, he uncovers disturbing similarities between the case and the circumstances surrounding his father’s suicide. Haunted by the past and running out of time, the case becomes more personal and Tank must confront painful memories to protect his loved ones, clear his father’s name, and reclaim his own sense of purpose.

Written and produced by Lee Caplin, the producer of the HBO hit series "TRUE DETECTIVE". Lee Caplin's other credits include ALI, THE HUMANITY BUREAU, AS I LAY DYING. The film stars Academy Award-nominated actor Terrence Howard (CRASH, HUSTLE & FLOW, IRON MAN) as well as Jacob Vargas (SONS OF ANARCHY, TRAFFIC, GET SHORTY, FRIDAY), Daniel Zovatto (THE POPE'S EXORCIST, WOMAN OF THE HOUR), Lana Parrilla (ONCE UPON A TIME, THE RAINMAKER, THE LINCOLN LAWYER ), Armando Riesco (NATIONAL TREASURE), and Luis Antonio Ramos (POWER, BLUE BLOODS, DO THE RIGHT THING).
