KARUNA

Synopsis

Karuna is invisible. A soft-spoken caregiver hired through a job app, she cooks, cleans and bathes the people others have stopped caring about. She never argues and never complains.

But Karuna is never alone. Whenever she turns her head, another Karuna turns back: cold, smiling, and certain that the world would be better without bad people.

In a quiet Bangkok shophouse, she cares for a sweet grandmother with dementia, and finds fresh wounds on the old woman’s back. In a crumbling home, she nurses a disabled rock star and his restless young wife, and watches them destroy each other.

Everyone has a secret. No one is innocent. And the voice in Karuna’s head keeps asking one question: which side are you on?
